God, I’m gonna pray via rhyme
As our blessings arrive in due time
Through all the good, bad, and in between
Things are seldom as they seem
Perspective is selective and based on our history
When work, friends and family cause dismay
We can always confide in God and pray
No need for an app, password, or fee to pay
Always available to lead an ear to everything we say
Cursed with time or rather a lack thereof
We strive and tithe to reach heaven above
As we face hate and embrace all with love
We’ll navigate tribulations, struggles, sickness, and grief
God grants us mercy and peace
