Black History Month is every February;
excited, I paid a visit to the local library.
The sign said, “Meet Someone New—
Select And Read a Great Biography”:
Fifteen books with portraits were lined-up
in easy view;
But there was none with a picture of someone
black like me.
There’s no reason to look upon this as really strange;
after all, there is very little that has really changed.
