Placed among the reeds

visions of religions fade

blend together and apart

time clash

are we for the silent truth... 

or do we represent the outrageous lie,

who treat the bible like a whore

How do you nurture newfound ability

practicing practical ways 

to learn each new approach

to things once deemed impossible

a way to glean different views 

find hidden truths make the 

invisible parts reveal secrets 

and so allow us a path 

crossing over bridges between 

intrinsic meaning 

and passages beyond walls

we could not pass

while doing what others called dreaming

or worse, evil... simple ideas...

so many times lost in illusion

cast aside purely because 

they could not be discerned apart 

from the clouds of confusion

the component parts...

dangerous as its approach

like fighting dragons, futile

unless you discover 

the hidden weaknesses

to find the many possible solutio...

Rising Moon

rising moon's glow

calls to me... from my sleep

my inner soul awakening

to surface from the deep

the audience i seek

peeks over the horizon

a welcome sight

a minor miracle

to dip a footprint of the sun

not quite a refection

more like a reverse shadow

to break the spell of darkness

its faint glow

spread as if a veil of sanity

amidst the madness

not quite singing the suns song

it does not know the words

Feat

A herald angel came to me one cold stormy night

cried as he spilled out his troubles

i told him its going to be alright

although we aren't tight, i listened

nodded to acknowledge his emotions

at all the right pauses 

as a chorus sang in the background

signaling an incoming curtain of fog

trumpets played a blues melody 

so profound ...i felt compelled 

to follow the beat, body, head and feet

got down... got carried away perhaps

Flight

tunnel vision

no escape from 

cold, hard facts

raw emotions betrayed 

by unexpected setbacks, 

false promises 

and sneak attacks

beyond tactful exchanges 

of well-chosen words

throwing curves to 

distract and obscure

wholesome, kind, nutritious, 

delicious, 

words which dance 

off your tongue

fanciful dreams... 

which bring to mind

particles of loose ideas

magical moments 

where we transform

thoughts and visions sublime

our minds untethered, 

now

freed to explore 

Chalk lines

feigned grace 

like astronauts walking in space

except floating, paused

with a condition called death

stuck in a pose, staring at space

but there's nothing to see

the blank empty stare

a last imposition

no longer aware

of shadows or light

locked into position

a graduate of the life

in the art of dying

now just dying art

except the dying part

is a permanent start

it keeps on coming

never seems to finish

with the illusion of unlimited potential

a voice that's could have been 

instrumental to replenish 

the fast dying sense of community

creep in from deep in shadows

Its a  war, bodies,

minds, hearts, spirits

A griot beats a drum all day
