TIME TO GET REAL!

With tongues like ripe fruits

Hanging on the limb of truth,

Let us raise the veil of darkness

Shadowing our liberation sojourn

And realize that sympathy does not

Halt nor change the structures of injustice;

That in the imminence of history, liberation

Has always been gain through active struggle—

That only grace is given—liberation fought and won.

Once more and again, let us realize that

Freedom is knowledge of self—our story—

Chronicling ancestral history in the fighting

Struggle to transform oppression into liberation;

Thus, let us cease from battling with each other

And turn our attention towards waging

A righteous war on oppressive community acts:

Political, economic and social genocide!

Indeed, before we can attack oppressive outside forces,

We must first sanitize our communities of the internal

Parasitical activities infesting our community’s integrity

And its struggle to eradicate injustice and ensure liberation;

Let us not be like caged birds or fish jumping from their tanks.
