The windows to our souls,

They don’t lie,

Nor hide a thought,

Eyes speak volumes.

Clearly, they seek.

Hunger,

Loneliness,

Fear,

Sorrow,

They show,

Happiness,

Joy,

Pain,

They’ll tell, your truth.

Adage says,

“A lying man can’t look into your eyes”

Out of fear,

They’ll show the lie.

The windows to the soul,

Holds secrets dear,

Yet, they cannot hide nor lie.

Behind the eyes of a lover,

You can see a burning desire for another.

Behind the eyes of a murder,

You can see where the soul is lost.

Behind the eyes of a mother or father,

You can see the pride for their child.

Behind the eyes of a child,

You can see the innocence of life.

Eyes do more than allow us to see,

If one shall look closely.

Appreciate the sight of the unseen.
