That “…we are all in this together…”

Has become the new-now watch-phrase

Of the day—despite encouragement

Of social distancing, self-quarantine

And you must stay at home, sheltering-in-place.

Ironically, the present pandemic paradigm

Paradox is a juxtaposed reality overshadowing

Focused on the inequality of economic distancing

That gave rise to the ignored pandemic poverty—

Pandemic poverty—ignored chosen not to manage.

From time immemorial, plagues and other pandemics

Have been sent—yes, sent—into the world that we

Be reminded of our short-comings in our duties

To all created humanity. 

Yet, we have chosen to ignore spiritual responsibility to all;

Choosing instead, to focus attention on selfish gains;

Selfish gains by any means necessary; irrespective of the cost.

Today, once more and again, a pandemic has been sent unto us,

And now our human conscience and its indebtedness are on notice.

Yet, once again, the so-called powers that be have turned only

To self, instead of to the Almighty Power of God—the Creator

That rules over all—who has blessed medical professionals—

Giving divine wisdom and guidance in medical treatment; but

It is the Almighty Father that remains in charge of all needed healings.

Those who have for centuries been recipients of pandemic sufferings,

Now call upon the rest of humanity to likewise know this.

Indeed, to ask—with audacious mendacity, to whom do we turn—

In these times of crisis, such is as ludicrous as it gets…Humanity, please!

As we socially distance ourselves amidst the shadows of death,

Let us realize that evil, in all its manifestations, only fears the wrath of God!
