Energizing my soul

With powerful spirituality

Pushing me onward

Into God’s good trouble

Armed with divine grace

And with the strengthening

Love of the rose of Sharon

And the blooming lily of the field,

I girdle myself with the breast-

Plate of audacious hope

And prepare for yet another day

In the struggle for liberty

That cometh with faith’s hearing

And the fearlessness

That God’s love gives unto us all.
