OF BREATHLESS JUSTICE

I can’t breathe…I can’t breathe…I can’t breathe…

Clanging echoes of a generation drowning in the

Bloody Dead Sea-like river of American injustice

And its tortuous racist flow of aged-old sage racism.

The pandemic meandering roaring of this racist Red

River continues to gradual gush over and through every

Barrier of justice erected in its path with seemingly Niagara

Falls forces as it seeks to shatter all legal restraints.

The regularly streaming of mock-like trials seeking justice

For non-mattering Black lives have become mere law and

Order-like soap operas ridiculing innocent until proven guilty

In courts where juries seem to mimic re-writes of a new Bull.

In deceitful viral courtroom settings, frame jurisprudence

Techniques are employed to white-out black innocence and

Blackout any obvious reflections of white racist oppressive guilt

And justify the need to use murderous law and order tactics.

Chauvinistic psychotic renderings seek to preserve the axiom:

Because I am white, everything that I do will always be alright!

Such psyco-manipulating strategy conjures painful keloid memories:

Could this chauvinistic trial be trailers of a Rodney King-like episode?

We black victims resting on the rusty jurisprudent chopping block

Must make the bigoted system aware that we remain on the Lord’s

Battlefield with determined audacious strengthening hope and faith

And are renewed and prepared to remain so until breath, do we part.

Lingering blindfolded injustice can no longer be manifested;

Truth and justice may be momentarily stained and dulled but

Righteousness can never be wiped out and blow off the throne;

Though morality may at times be crucified, it’s always resurrected!

We must ever be mindful of whose peers traditionally dominate juries

When there are trials between whites versus blacks in a racist society.

Let us not be in the darkness of ignorance with how escalated injustice

And speculations are used to de-escalate justice for Black Americans.
