A herald angel came to me one cold stormy night

cried as he spilled out his troubles

i told him its going to be alright

although we aren't tight, i listened

nodded to acknowledge his emotions

at all the right pauses

as a chorus sang in the background

signaling an incoming curtain of fog

trumpets played a blues melody

so profound ...i felt compelled

to follow the beat, body, head and feet

got down... got carried away perhaps

but then that's all me...

as Popeye sez, i am who i am

took me over the edge of sanity

to a garden in paradise,

filled with many wonderful things

sorry, i'd forgotten about the angel

as his darkest secrets got more sad

his sins made mine seem trivial

and just when i couldn't take anymore

he could see i felt bad...

still he got mad as Hell

lightning came from behind his eyes

and darkness leapt from his hands

surrounding and choking me

i fell down... gasping for air

but none was there

my heart held on to my last hope

as i blacked out... i could feel it

from my core of being

at last ...a spark

ignited something greater

i called to the Creator...

from the faintest whisper of my last breath

of my last gasp a silent prayer

to the still beating heart of humanity

a parting sigh!

What happened? Did i die.

No, i woke up Crying...

trying hard to understand,

from where i sit.

Knowing life demands

We take a stand.

Angels are not our friends.

They are merely messengers,

coming from either side.

We shall All be tested...

in the End

Are you Out

Or In?
