I didn’t fall all at once—

I came apart in quiet ways,

edges softening,

strength slipping grain by grain.

 But even in the ruin,

There’s a truth I can’t ignore:

what crumbles

can clear the ground

for something stronger

to rise. a gentler kind of resilience.

My blues have edges like river?worn stone,

Smoothed by the years, carved by the unknown.

But a glint found its way through the cracks in the hue,

A warm little spark in a world colored blue.

 It’s the whisper of healing, the start of a muse —

A moment of sunlight

Break in My Blues

There’s a crack in the quiet where the light slips through,

A soft little shimmer in the shade of my blue.

I’ve carried storms in my chest, thunder stitched in my seams,

But today there’s a pause — a breath — a shift in the dream.

 It’s small, but it’s honest, this bright, gentle bruise.

A promise that even the heaviest hearts

Life is a broken-wing

Cannot fly.” You will always find a way” wake up, for sometimes, when you fall, you fly.

Your Pain can be relentless, it feels like a stab wound to the heart, something we could all do

Without, Pain is a sudden hurt that can't be escaped. But also because of pain, you will feel the

Tenderness, and freedom of flying healed. It will feel like the wind against your face when you 

Spread your wings and fly.

Don’t be afraid of change. If you are secure on the branch that you are on, you will never

Know that there is such a thing as a sky, a beyond that which you can see in front of you.

Now, what do I say…. everything I had was placed into a man; at least I felt he was a man, a man I could love until. Well you know to him I say….

I loved you,

I loved you until the inner parts of my soul ached,

I loved you with the sight of a blind man,

I loved you through the darkness of loneliness.

I loved you in the belittlement of my pride,

I loved you so, that I walked through the fire of humiliation and endured the lashes of wagging tongues.

I loved you through the tears I cried when you silently said goodbye

I guess, I will always love you, until the flowers placed upon me, wither away in the wind.

Time, Lost Time?

A minute too late. Lost - yesterday, between sunrise and sunset, two hours, gone forever

Lost time within us, changes swept by, swept away.

The end of your life, regret having passed, not closing time governs the clock.

Dare triumphs, through checkered failures... rank your spirits in gray twilight?

Walk in the perfection of time.

And I believe listening to the conversations of the winds there is….

Playing till Sunrise

Playing till sunrise the low-down blues, blew my mind. Something’s been missing my whole life.

The music, discards everything down to the soul. My Blues are the true facts of my life expressed in words and song, feelings, understanding.

Out of the blues: joy, pain, and struggle. Affirmation with absolute.

It's about the pain, the struggle in the blues, universal pain from having your heart broken.

Purely emotive, like Howlin' Wolf; you understand it, because the emotion is darker than some of the loneliest blues.

Relief in all the trials of my life.  A 'lowdown dirty shame slow and lonesome, I ain't dead, I'm just supposed to be' the blues.

My blues ain't going nowhere.  Ain't goin' nowhere. It's indelible and indispensable.

I’m not a complicated piece of work. But my rhyme scheme can be difficult, spontaneous energy in the works.

Black, White & Grey Battle Engaged

Years trying to outrun or outsmart vulnerability of black and

white, good and bad. The discomfort of vulnerability wrought

uncertainty I want to be different It's a struggle for every

young Black man.

Black spirits and white spirits engage in battle, the sun

darkened - thunder rolls in the Heavens, blood flows in the

streets. no rules, society made the rules, for our suffering and

redemption.  The truth is that movements cannot be reborn,

causes of black suffering, self-inflicted broken dreams.

The path ails the African-American community, not just in the

minds of black people; but in the legacy - infinite shades of

grey often appear in black and white.
