A Fathers day story 

way back in 1970 I am boarding plane

headed to Vietnam after 30 day leave

back then the plane bout 20 feet from plane

6 foot link chain between plane and wating area

Had told family I only wanted Pop to take me

to airport didnt want crying scene of sadness

As I got 3 4ths up the stairs Pop called my name

I turn look he say remember aint no Heroes in

the Woodward family I say gotcha Pop

A simple way of tellin me go on over there

come on back (A Dads Love) My Pop

liked listening to my music Stevie was

his favorite but his favorite song loved

was show and tell by Al Wison take a listen Its a beautiful song

Aint we glad we gottum

not the ones that r suppose

to b Supreme the ones that work

for not the people but for a racist administration

tarnishing Blacks Minorities Special needs and everyday folks

with their for whites only policies but we got the

local the Federal Lower courts who r over ruling

the king and his detrimetal polices and executive orders

takin the trump name off the JFK building restoring

monuments in state parks been removed thinkin

they can erase slavery in this country like it never existed

like they never put small pox in Blankets gave to Native Americans

as a gift like that never happened

trying to erase that slavery never happened beaten

with whips hung in trees

Even in the wild the judge has the final say

the vultures dressed in their black robe grey collar

will clear up any road kill

For SC had a wonderful month

of May

Usually hot humid high 90s 

to trriple digit

but not this year lot of 80s days

not many 90s no triple digit

but now June two weeks in spittin

out that hostile humidity in u go

that Carolina Summer oven

Next three days highs in high 90s

triple digit feel like temps each day

108 tomorrow

No way to escape laid up with injure

foot guess will do a lil bit writing

stayin in the house restin this ruptured tendon

in the back of the foot tryin hardest I

can to do as the Godfaather says get on

the good foot

bout the game when that person arrived

My Life

What a cut up event it has been

smile from ear to ear

Money never was an issue

once you have done the war zone thing

have that LP song from the LP is MY Life Being a Vietnam Vet this is one of the songs I played for my generation for me it will always b too much too litte late to pretend u care Enjoy your summer everyone

A Nother Mystifyin Day

EAch day as Ive grown older

never know whats comin my

way for that day

Makin plans that been got

outta hand never no where 

the comin pain

I never understood til my

twilight years life is broken 

down in chapters

I was always an adapter delt

with things as they came

my good friend lot younger likes

to tell me yeah U thought was gonna

play basketball all your life

I swear I told him yeah livin the moment

never once thinkin bout agin

I never viewd that chapter when love

ones would pass or when serious injury

drrails you or ilness being part of the game 

or chapter

not one minute thinkin bout get older

Ive gotten older and time do not play

stop u in your tracks all of sudden on

all kind daily meds arthur in your back

SC Redistricting Voters Rights

Dont write much bout my experiences in Vietnam

but this one piicture stays in my mind all the time I 

was an Infantry company clerk and also work for intelligence out in the boonies undrground bunker on a 1 sq mile LZ what stays in my mind though somethin that happen to a soldier in another company He walked around base camp with large letters Black Markin pen on his steel pot helmet this is what he printed I kill gooks for fun He been in country couple months those gooks he talked about nailed him dead in the forehead My song for this song is War by Edwin Starr now go celebrate with the cook outs and the day off from work three day weekend
