The physical fades to a quiet
background when the map of your
thoughts begins to unwind.
Though your beauty lies bare in this
softening light, it is always the
structure and grace of your mind.
The curve of a shoulder, the warmth of
a touch, are only the threshold, the
edge of the door.
But, the words that you speak and the
truths you hold still are the landscapes
I am drawn to explore.
For skin may invite an immediate gaze,
a sudden surrender to what I can see,
But the robe of your intellect, layered
and deep is the riddle that sets my
attention free.
I trace the contours of all that you
know, the quiet convictions you choose
to confess.
Finding that beneath every layer
revealed, your beautifully clothed mind
is what strips me of less.
