You Can Pull Up Anytime

if you are in the area
you're welcome to pull up for lunch
or brunch
beers with chips and dip
you're always welcome to stop through
and we will leave room in the driveway
for your secret service posse too

we can chill and talk basketball
music
or good books read
downstairs in my comfy man cave
the women can hang out in the living room
watching Netflix
while we have a second beer and misbehave

you're always welcome to pull up
a confidential and total anonymous situation
if you two wanna hang out overnight
or have a weekend vacation
I will fire up the grill 
for hamburgers and hot dogs
shrimp and a few steaks
take a short drive around the county
and quietly throw small pebbles into the local lakes

if you were to ever invite us
we would immediately book a short flight 
pull up to your well secured spot
with just an overnight bag each
we don't travel with a whole lot
no conversation about politics
no mention how they make fun of your name
just a couple of beers and pizza will do
while we watch a football or basketball game

that is on my bucket list
or a wish list which might not come to fruition
to meet with you and hang out
we would both accept any pre condition
I stopped playing competitive basketball a while ago
but would welcome you to the court 
and watch you nail a few threes
for me
anything not so strenuous
that would put stress on my aging knees

the wives would be at the kitchen table
with a room temperature glass of wine
the executive assistant tapping her watch
you must be back on the plane before nine
and we will watch you and your posse
turn the corner and roll down the street
