this ain't the life we wanted

but mama got a warrrant

she's never clean, trying to survive

by any means

we sleep in traphouses with feens

she's been beaten and battered and to

make matters worse

she's h.i.v. infected, still prostituting and forever

leaving us neglected

she can at least enroll us in school, why won't she

cease her drug use?

her and daddy remained in constant feuds

she sustained the mental pain and physical abuse

now daddy's in the county and mama stay running

from the bounty

we walk the streets with barely a change of clothes

this ain't the life we chose

pillar to post, she's like a ghost

gone for hours at a time, and here we are two

young black males

well on our way to a life of crime
