I learned a long time ago
folks don't always tell you stuff
that tickle your ear
Or show you things that mesmerize your sight.
Often the real them is exposed
and you have to endure, even if it's wrong or even if it's right
Folk beg and borrow, sometimes steal
You know that kind of borrow without asking.
A different person than you thought
you revealed in their unmasking
"Yea" folk will get you caught up
More than you can believe
They will be the one, the one you never thought
would navigate this decieve
Talk behind you back
Smile in your face
"Yea, you heard that before"
The thought of them being your friend
"HUMPH" what a waist
You gotta be cautious
there are plenty of snakes in the grass
Sliding all around your feet
Ready to pounce, chew you to pieces
like a juicy piece of meat.
Now am I saying all you encounter is bad
and on your guard you must uphold
No not at all that's not what I'm saying to do
just know that if it ever goes wrong
not to be oblivious to what I have told you.
Folks do make mistakes
yea this is true
but for real, for real (yea 2x's)
Yep so do you.
In these mistakes growth often is in order
to create a stronger self
However some take longer than others
to grab a hold of it's wealth.
But listen don't judge them
only pray
each day moving blessings
their way.
So when these folks get to talkin
and by any means aim to take the joy in your day
Lift your hands
guard your tongue
and bless God you know a better way.
Open up
let Him in
listen to Him say
