Escape

I need to escape

Get away from it all

The daily grind

Is filing me down

Like a fingernail

I can't scratch my itch

My desire to be free

Open skies and gigantic oceans

Expand beyond my imagination

I can't leave the ground

My feet gets no rest

I'm a prisoner to gravity

I can't defy the laws of it

But one day I will

Levitate off this earth

Float among the clouds

And birds alike

A little closer to heaven

Fly towards paradise

Discover my oasis

Bask in my freedom

But for right now

I'm shackled to

The everyday struggle

My ball and chain

I'm still searching for the key
