come out of your shell
if you have a story to tell
water is meant to be drawn from a well
hum inspired words that would cause a bird
to sing beautiful tunes in the afternoon
a million voices reciting at the same time
scrabbling the sunny side of my mind
in an open atmosphere words spoken
absent from fear
where ever it happens I just want to be near
to hear those lines in my ears
that stops tears from falling and inspires peers
get in touch with the creative side
where souls are touched by words applied
no claps but snaps will do just fine
tell me a story that keeps on going
in and out of season
things that happen for a reason
about flowers that bloom in skid row alleyways
feeling the waves moving through the graves
the sound of communities
trying to be in tune
knitting pieces together
to warm the world with a sweater
picking up each other come blow your horn
wake up somebody sound the alarm
let your passion burn like
gasoline on fire
when pain turns into
the smell of fresh cut green grass
with the coming of rain
truth is told by lies
the knots that are tied
to untangle we try
golden fantasies rise
hell bakes apple pies
somebody scream
heaven is made of ice cream
it does not matter how many
windows are broken
when the word goes onward
it is spoken and keeps on going
so whatever its going to be
place it in a ball of energy and
call it poetry
