In life…
there are some difficult streets to cross
some are so difficult that we are left standing
on the other side looking up and down
back and forth for long periods of time
waiting until it is safe to cross, knowing that
we will have to risk it all to reach the other side
the fact is …all streets are difficult to cross
even if we are standing at an intersection
waiting for the light to change...waiting for the light to change
even if the way is clear to do so
we are playing leapfrog with our lives
it all boils down to the choice we have and…
the decisions that we make are we reading the signs
are we obeying the rules? The voice of reason
is telling us to cross at the light it’s saying to us
this is suicide you’re making a mistake we ignore
it all putting the danger out of our minds
because we believe that we can make it and we can
but there’s always someone pointed right at us
in a hurry, rushing through life, with their heads down
talking, texting, posting or tweeting their lives away
