is dangerous.
I’m an endangered species
swimming toward the lure
of an adept angler.
I read her words aloud,
and as they leave my watering mouth,
I am hooked on the taste
of this phonetic bait.
Reeled in by her lines by design.
Caught in the wild and released
in the endless ocean of her mind,
and I have a notion to stay here,
to live out the last of my days here
until I wash up on her shores
to read her sweet words nevermore.
