I remember the dark days
and the thoughts relayed
Cats barking and the dogs meowing
the rats were ultra aggressive
like the wolves they were even howling..
The Cold summers and hot winters,
bumn****s, still was winning.
The good was suffering for the good
the hood was mistaken for bringing good..
Good n****s was looked down on
while the wicked goonz was crowned and throned
the followers of the bad terrified the good
and even stoned them for not getting stoned with them at 3 in the morning.
People cursing the good out for what they stood for
while praising the bad guys who's wiping the hood out.
The dark side got baby doe out there grinding,
he's only 9 and the streets is his guidance,
the hood know he won't even make it to see 16!
Why won't they stop him and tell him to try something positive?!
The #1 fiend in the hood was at one time the best athlete in the hood,
he too growing up criticized and shunned the good
he's reaping what he sowed, boy is it that cold?!
See we still have choices
good n****s will never be popular
don't ever change who you are to get people to like ya.
Understanding life is the hard part
it's easy to survive in the hood
because the hood is a trap for like minded fools..
