where some of us are actually law abiding

I only strive to be great
but we can't accelerate or achieve
when visitors stand at our wake
and so we still believe we can make that difference
the struggle for us is real enough and so my hands stay consistent
their up in the air
with no intentions to be resistant
these same hands may one day save your life
I wish I can just wrap them around the neck of the black male stereotype
