autumns song...

just different

velvet rains,
have come and gone
leaving a silvery dew
sparkling in sunshine, golden
as for me, my mind is lost in the clouds
thinking of you
meet solemn memories
me sobbing quietly
salty warm, wet tears
tasting just a bit bitter
a perfect match for the pain of loss,
writing my own epitaph
yes, he was a giver
rushing to the ground
falling down
from the sullen skies
i, caught in the crossfire
with the wind
lost somewhere between
passion and desire
set down by a tree
bury my head in my arms
as if nothing else matters
thinking again
of the woman of my dreams
too late, i found out
my fate
has taken another path
i was lost in that moment
now it doesn't matter
watching the wind
dance with the trees
sun at my face
drifting from a daze
and into a dream
floetic dancers
having one last moment
fleetingly departing
one last glance
it's starting
asail into the wind
falling gently
to find a new home
leaves so freely roam
some find the ground
catching a ride
on wind and stream,
resistance to the wind...
a distant memory, lost
a forsaken wish,
it's promise gone...
now, just a dream...   away
it's blown further on
remembering the long misty days
it used to sing in the wind
it swam through the haze, till it was all
burned away by the sun
to laugh in the wind
and drink of the rain,
always growing stronger
until autumn days
brought the cold kiss of winter
and as life slipped away
in a most beautiful color filled array
an armada of trees
knew all too well
time for the departing display
and moved on
Autumn's song
one falls upon the water
it's every motion
followed by a fish unseen...
beneath the surface
exerting just enough...
energy
to drift gently
just inside the shadows
beside a stone
near motionless to hover
to fathom
with obscurity
continuously
seeking sustenance
scanning every sense tuned
alert to the danger
of the great unknowns
large or small
enemies gathering
while this state of being
answers to no one
silently, stalking
no time
is wasted
to plumb the depths
alone
