while it's daylight, 
All this 
becomes 
another 
world, 
At night 
As all too often 
we lead our lives 
compartmentalized 
in our private 
flowing pools 
our bodies 
push pulled along 
within the mainstream 
amidst the echoes of life 
are touched by this reality 
together, but at what cost 
as a life nearby is bled 
indiscriminately, gone! 
As we continue on 
living despite
