I bought lunch for Judas today...

I walked past a homeless man, 
Bought an extra meal, came back and said can I join you fam?
Thanks he replied, we sat quiet for awhile as we ate,
He hesitated, then looked up from his plate,
And said what if I told you that I was eons old,
And betrayed my savior for 30 pieces of silver - not gold,
For years I walked beside the king of kings,
Witnessed & performed miracles and saw many godly things,
But still didn't believe and now I'm cursed - history's worst....
I replied, damn, for a second I though you were going to say something really crazy,
I've travelled the world - there's not much that can faze me, 
I'm Jason, and I'd say you'd make a convincing Judas however,
The bible says that you didn't survive your endeavor,
He chuckled, it's been a while since l've laughed,
Or had a meal, for that matter even taken a bath,
Jesus didn't, so I don't expect you to believe me too,
Where are you from, what do you do?
Who do you love, what is your truth?
As we ate our fries, I told a stranger my past,
When I got to college, I paused then asked,
Wait, my manners are out of line,
Dude, you a lesson in bible, what have you been doing all this time?
With a serious gaze, he replied with a phrase,
Betraying Jesus was hell, but being 100 years a slave...
