Parallel lines are two lines that are always the same distance apart and never touch. A funny way to start a poem as such. Two figures stand separated by a barrier constructed of metaphors and common word play I desperately wait for you to speak what your heart truly means to say. Clinging to false hope fighting against destiny to fulfill my own selfish desires I dream of holy matrimony as the angels sing hymns so heavenly. A white picked fence out in the countryside away from nay sayers and non believers a blessing in the form of tranquility my breath is taken aback from the sight of you each day as God whispers my name every morning. The past of pained failures and heartache are detached from our memory banks we formulate true success that intertwines with His plan for us we become perpendicular at long last. But...the laws of absolute are etched in stone and cannot be overturned. No matter how much you try two parallel lines will never cross paths...only continue infinitely at the same distance. From across the visual plane I raise my white flag to voice my acceptance and break free of this infinite continuity. Our paths were never meant to be crossed just as two parallel lines will remain separated for all eternity.
