40 years from now
I'm 81, sitting in a park and wearing a smile
With my whole family eating some barbecue
Fashion is odd, animal prints like a zoo
Stripes, spots, fur and feathers on my shirt and shoe
Little ones proud that grandpa's got the same gear too
My wife is next to me talking to our daughter
She was hidden from view and my eyes started to water
When she appeared from behind a tree
I saw the girl I once knew and then the woman standing before me
A spitting image of her mother, she said daddy what's wrong?
Suddenly I felt as if I haven't seen her in so long
As I experienced this vivid futuristic deja vu
I wondered, was it time travel or a dream, I had no clue
