sitting quietly writing poetry easily
close my eyes still can see
electrically filled with frequency
vibrating frequently like cell phones
no tone lyrical to the bone
bad with a nappy head covered in
dreads like I'm a Bama or from Louisiana
have a friend who recently moved
to Mississippi she say she hate it
I can't debate it they still confederate
nothing changed the flag still hangs
careful not to choke you can still
smell smoke from when it was burnin
don't plan on me visiting it's safer
in the Cabrini Greens before the
demolition then to be seen with
yo black @ss on the streets of Tupelo
you might get found stiff 2 below zero
that's dead I'm just saying it's safer
in the projects at lease you know
the odds you're up against
