Humpty and Dumpty loved to play ball
Humpty got fouled on a dunk but the refs gave him the call
The team thought he was done
But Humpty picked himself up and got the ‘And 1’
With seconds remaining his team still down by five
Humpty got back on D and took it all in stride
Dumpty got the rebound and passed it to Humpty down the side
His coach told him to go for a three
Double teamed Humpty was trapped at the top of the key
He made a quick pass
Got the rock back from Dumpty, then he called glass
Banked the ball in and made a clutch three!
All the Kings and all the Horses each had no fouls to give
Humpty knew that he had to foul or steal so here’s what he did
He ran out of bounds
Then spun around
Dove on the floor and cracked all over the ground
The other team’s guard tripped
Then the ball slipped
Humpty urged Dumpty to grab it real quick!
Dumpty lobbed it back to Humpty with a prayer and a hope
Humpty got up, still leaking yolk
And caught the pass with 1.3 seconds remaining
Standing at half court he launched the ball groaning and straining
As the shot clock hit double zero
Nothing but net - Humpty was the hero!
The Kings won the game by one!
Confetti fell from the rafters and the fans cheered and rejoiced
As Humpty was being interviewed he started to lose his voice
The reported congratulated him and asked what was in store
Humpty replied, Do you have a dust pan or something? I left it all out on the floor!
