I Googled truth, but didn’t find any answers
I looked up my symptoms and found a dozen different cancers
I wasn’t looking for porn, but it found me twice
Its amazing how much (of it) is free, lust used to have a price
I read about history - some was new but most I’d heard
I found some scripture and studied the word
I scrolled through today’s news, but most was just gossip
So many advertisements from companies seeking profit
Social media was cool at first, but now it seems like a chore
Pictures, memes, opinions, and the same stuff that I just saw before
I don’t really care about what my family and friends just ate
Or how cute their kids and pets are, how they spend money, or where they went out on a date
Indulgence is the new normal, the world wide web is a scab, and we’re all anxious pickers
We’re digital versions of those weird drivers with a trunk covered in bumper stickers
