lightness in the dark
Hey there my fellow poets! Blessings and greetings to you all for a prosperous new year. Life has been pretty rough for me since I last posted but nonetheless, as always with God's mercy and grace I've persevered. I'm finally at a point where I can start posting again. I so miss being on here and reading everyone's works. I hope that everything is going well for everyone. Let's keep the inklove flowing!

Sunday, Soup and Sweaters

just different

It’s a crisp Sunday morning
The temp is about 30*
Cooler than usual
The rain hasn’t stopped since yesterday
And shows no signs
Of letting up.
A hot breakfast to take the chill off,
A cup of hot herbal tea
With a liquid candy taste
Heats up the inner walls of
My chest as it goes down.
Long sleeve shirt, comfortable
Stretchy pants and hoodie
Warmly paired with ankle socks and slippers
Have me just about complete.
The day is quiet and lazy
And well into the evening hours
The rain continues.
My bed offers suitable comfort
As I doze on and off
But as I curl up on my bed and
Back under the covers
Muffled growls make their presence known
And a nice hot bowl of homemade beef stew
With bow tie pasta makes
For a perfect dinner and
A cozy end to a cold and rainy night.
