Chicago, wearing rhinestones that twinkle in the night.

Throw down jewelry gaudy city with her skirt hiked up

windows throw light back in your face

The interstate curls like a snake writhing through

Concrete skyrise thighs

Conceal ill will in the shadows of downtown

One way street to Cook County lock ups

Booking before the big leagues

Saints shack with sinners

In Chi-Town

bullet holes pock mark calendars

40 caliber time stamps sting and burn

He got shot

She got shot

Personal Vietnams

War of words made tangible and traumatic

Kill with an automatic mechanized murder

bleeds over to Lake Shore Drive.

A city with no reflection in the mirror

voracious vampires feed on plasma flavored pessimism

Racism reinforced into a involuntary reflex.

Chicago gaudy exhibitionist showing her goodies in the day light

Her reckoning comes at night.
