CLIMBING JUSTICE'S LADDER...
Question, not our spirituality or timing,
we're still here and we're still climbing--
each rung bringing us closer to the reality
of the winning of our total won liberty.
Some simply step out on hope...pray and wait,
we grasp her rails...stepping up with proven faith;
knowing that the Almighty has already made the date
and like the promised resurrection, it will not be late.
What is coming needs no rhyme or clarity of reason,
everything that is has its time and due season--
the darkness of bigotry cannot stop what is right:
let us continue to struggle with truth and light in sight.
Ours is the God of the oppressed...and our time is set;
He promised to make us free...and has never failed us yet.
