How long will the nation
Remain a hostage of its self;
An unchained body
With a well-shackled mind
Drooling in an open door cage?
Like a vain ranting and raving child,
A like-minded egotistical tyrant—
Fueled with corruption and deceit—
Craves similar tweeting bird-style cages;
A captive nation albeit shut down
Via clanging eerie demonic echoes
Is no lesser or greater than a bird
In an open door cage
With wings impervious to a shackled mind.
It’s written and known that power corrupts
And that absolute power corrupts absolutely;
If allowed to do so.
Let it now be written and known for eyes to hear:
Water without waves stagnates and evaporates;
Likewise is the telltale fate of a stagnant nation.
N.B.:
Self-caged in the home of the brave
And the land of the free
Is like an unchained bird
Self-incarcerated in an opened cage.
