Washing the dishes used to be my least favorite chore
As an adult I don’t think that anymore
Now I see it as a time to meditate
The time it takes time to wash our utensils is when I allocate
Prayers for family and friends, patients, and understanding
While I wash the pots and pans I review all the things that are demanding
During the cups and mugs I acknowledge my problems and opportunities
As I soak and scrub the dishes I mentally upcoming events and other soon to be’s
For the bowls and other odds and ends I count my blessings
As I dry the dishes I write rhymes in my mind like this lesson
