Came and went.

It was the best time

I came out of my shell.

Could have sworn

I had Heaven

In the safety of my purse.

I choked on the loose change

When you found someone else

To put first.

Found my salvation

At the bar

As I envied her

From afar.

She wore her hair down

And was well covered;

Just the type

To take home

To mother.
