Midnight Nubian Reflection
I looked into a mirror;
it looked back at me—
a stunning reflected glow
of regal beauty;
With mixed feelings of reality,
I released a naked smile
of blessed vanity,
and stood there for a while;
An image of God I said,
and hopped into my waiting bed
and gave thanks to life’s Head.
