Of Dried and Tried Seeds

Having failed

To turn our vineyard

Into a graveyard

Of raisins in the sun

They now seek

To pluck away ripe purple—

Black plumbs

To grave the soil

With wrinkle laden prunes;

 

Guess they failed

The watermelon lesson:

Earthly green

Blood red flesh

Multiple black seeds;

 

We are children

Of the Father

Of the Sun/Son

Energized and fertilized

By the cosmic spirit

Resurrecting generations

Of dried and tried seeds

Germinating and blooming

Freedom flowers in the sun.

While looking for something else on the bookshelf this morning, my eyes fixed themselves on Hansberry's "A RAISIN IN THE SUN"; before I knew it, there I was sitting at the computer keyboard and taking in the sun rise...what a cosmic poetic experience....I know you know where I'm coming from...needed to share this.
