Today
is no different
than yesterday
and tomorrow
will be likewise
lest we fail
not to realize
that apathy
is a quiet infecting
disease—malignantly
infusing fear…
eating away courage…
feeding despair &
munching desire
to live free.
Yesterday gave us today
and tomorrow’s children
wait out the past
in the present—
their future on hold—
but time never stops
and is always free
and is now…ours
to get busy—
spreading the trowel
of justice—
paving the path
for those to sojourn
with us…in their time
that’s been coming
since time immemorial
and has now arrived
for us all to do
what must be done
to weave our past
present and future
into quilted liberation.
Let’s get to sowing

time is on our side:
