There seems lately to be catastrophe

Awaiting for us at every turn

When will we ever stop

The existential freight train rolls by

Jesus gave you his sandals …put you on the right path

But, you threw them away …in exchange for your pride

Saying, you’ll not give them away

Because you like them for the style

But they’re just not your size  

…smell the roses, drink the coffee and learn,

Short cuts to nowhere 

…are just ploys…

Sent overnight mail 

...by the master deceiver

To devil may dare 

…and you’re quick to reply

Playing the shell game 

with your debtors

Until …they play you 

the same way

Blind others, to your games …sowing confusion  

Until, you finally admit to yourself 

…you are blind

Calling yourself a chef 

by adding flavor packets

…to food that’s delivered 

…doesn’t quite get you there 

someday, you'll find... 

Faking the flavor …doesn’t take you anywhere  

And unless you stomp on it 

… doesn’t fly

In the holy wars …we’re just the beginners

Some people actually care …enough

…to lay down their lives

And will live everyday …giving for the needy... 

The too old, the weak… the meek

…and those who gave service

Wounded …for the cause 

…of a belief

The world was not too lost 

…to save

Saints …versus sinners

 â€¦and we’re just decoys

Just in the free moments

We have spent together,

We have fallen in love

Not just to keep from being alone

If you don’t know by now

What it is that you want?

I cannot help you decide

We will not have long

To attend to our fantasies

Before our time has come and gone

When all the while reality

Is calling to us,

So take heed before our signals

Change from green to yellow

And all our yellows turn to red

Or we will have to wait until

After they change

Back to green again

When will we ever learn?

…it’s not polite

To poison your foes …in a treaty for peace

+to… hobble and maim, under the guise of relief

When you meet a new world 

…to conquer…

You who would …explore their weakness

Weaponize …Christianity

With the most deadly tools in our collective history

Bringing to bear …the full arsenal

Of evil minds… set for the task

…to renew the battle …of total war…  

Enslave …torture and kill…

Turned against …all humanity…

By some mistaken view 

…we are inherently separated

By caste, intellect …or races…

When will we …ever learn…

Not to continue

Time… past, future

And now, again…

And again

…down the path

Down

…into the mouth

Of the vortex…

Draining our good fortune

To rot and spoil

Until all that’s left

Will not even sustain

Who’s last right

Will be… found

Lost

And

Deranged

As all is 

Past the point of no return

We have

All been tossed

In the garbage heap…

Of lost toys…

Played for keeps

With liars, cheaters

Rapists and murderers

Running the game

As we all

Finally lay together

In peace

Are all …on the battlefield

Casualties of avarice

All…
