Living at the edge of sorrow

They come,

always From Ruthless societies

Of beggars, thieves and whores

Harbringers of endless wars

Prone to violence Royal bloodlines

tainted with hatred of kin

Sinful beasts  perpetual liars

murderous scum, lusting for power

Reeking of gin Having false modesty

religious pomposity to name afew

Misplaced loyalty

for both god and country

Pyrite kings with majestic dreams of

Lost cities streets, paved with gold

Free reign to plunder

Total annihilation of whatever nation it was

Of others treasured relics sacred sites

Uninvited guests(you know the rest)

Taking everything in sight

and their dreams, too

Fool’s gold Kindness never considered

Lustful deceit bearing interest

despoiler of souls

Delivered in overwhelming quantities

Precious treasures stolen thrice

The dream, the means and the future

Living At the Edge of sorrow

revealing the hidden truths

Yesterday matters Basking in the glow

Of this place under the sun

Asking for a chance for the love

To be revealed back into the flow

of everyday happenstance

While learning steps to the dance

Leaves in the wind seem to know

Days and nights warming the cold

With the rise and ebb of waves within

Making progress in all ways we need to grow

Not just in the hit and run

we’ve seen it all before

Not just the standard come and go

Came and stayed

Murdered, pillaged and worse

Made subject to serve

Enslaved
