I didn't forget it's just that
no one speaks of it anymore
as if it didn't happen
even though it was so
terrifying I still remember
but no one talks about it
not like they did when
it happened when it was
fresh out the wrapper
now it seems like moldy
bread or milk gone sour
no one wants to touch it
we have passed on to
a different subject
as if to be under some
kinda gag order choking
breath out of life that
matters I never forgot it
just no longer speak of it
pretending it didn't to
survive the worse things
that happen enduring life
