Prayers once so simple
As God please wake me up for class
To taking exams hoping you’d help me to pass
Then spending months and years avoiding temptation
Deployed away from my love via sea duty station
Later hoping for new life with ten fingers and toes
Help me teach her to manage highs and lows
To bless our family, nation, and planet
Finally God please return all of my burdens, now I can stand it.
