All I ever wanted was the very best for you
When I first layed eyes on you, I saw how special you were
I knew God had special plans for you
Sacrifices were just a small part of the love, that I have for you
Longing for you to reach heights, and set goals as a mark
I did not intend to put too much pressure on you
When you were learning the golden rules
Showing you how to be responsible, and teaching you values
That I knew one day, as an adult you would have to adhere to
To smell the flowers, not just see them
To find the treasure at the end of the rainbow
After the dark clouds have cease
That is the joy I feel for you, and hoping your
Determination will just increase
To be a role model, anointed, and gifted
But never forget your meager beginnings how you were sifted
Nothing worth wild comes easy
Through struggles come strength, remember the life of Jesus
At 12 years his mission was revealed
Providing necessities are a value in parenting
But not all are dedicated to their children to give them
Their all, to try to make a child’s dream come true
I do not compare my bond with you to any other
Just pray that the bond will never be broken
