I travelled through time
Centuries through history via my bloodline
As different men, women, and children and
I was African, European, Asian, and Native American
Experienced royalty, slavery, and everything else in between
Displayed along a path on a speeding roller coaster via high definition screens
I was knighted and smitten
Hugged, kissed, beaten, and bitten
Hanged, chained, drowned and guillotined
Cannon fodder on a battlefield, once I was blown to smithereens!
As crazy as our present seems, the past was incrementally worse
If we'd only learn from our ancestors, then we could break our curse!
