Live Streaming Oppression
Shadowed killings for 400+ years
Is now daily streamed watching
And though the rolling Cameras
Don’t lie, those who have control
And harness the scales of justice,
Remain undeniably able to do so.
Today, every station and channel
Has unscripted free showings
Of cops and their law and order
But none of these characters
Seen are struggling actors.
They are really paid murderers
Of black lives that mattered
But are now just added inked
Stats of their killers’ psyche fear.
False freedom and modern-day
Oppressive deaths are as common
Today as was slavery in its hay-day
And the breaking news is no longer
A surprise event; rather, each day
Has become a timed episode detailing
The life and death story in this weary
Land where the matters of oppressive
Black Lives are like leftover fast food;
Collected, boxed-up, and trashed.
