Contemplating The Task...

Heads up my people, be aware;

there’s more than is seen there.

You would have thought that it was all

on the decline,

But there is a renewed viral reinjection

of black-on-black crime.

Listen, social distancing and sheltering

in place,

Has never been a major problem for the

black race.

Yet, we’ve allowed the pandemic frustration

and a presidential hoax

To lead us back to the daily imposed psychosis

of us killing our own folks.

Now is the time and the time is surely now

to bring this to an end

And halt the fate of us again being weary victims

of this community sin.

Covid-19 has already decimated us with its tolling

disparities;

Why go back to the self-inflicted viral community

calamities?:

Daily, young black boys and girls lie dead in the street;

blood flowing from head to feet.

On one side, black parents standing…grieving their

 precious dead;

Their children’s cold bodies laying there…riveted

with hot lead.

On the other side, grieving black parents who must

defend a psychotic son;

And the cardinal sin that caused him satanically to

fire the pearl handle gun.

If we do not rise up and put down such genocide

atrocities,

Once again, our black lives will not matter to us nor

our enemies.

We must no longer marginalize our duties and our

responsibilities;

We must halt this short-changing and the waning of

our liberties ;

With the spirit of power guiding us to get into some

good trouble,

Let’s get on with the bursting of this black-on-black

crime bubble!
