As the month rolls on, Good tidings is in the atmosphere
Open with gratitude, Filled with holiday cheer
But who and what are we really cheering for?
Well, it depends on who's at our core.
Let's give thanks for surviving another year
Let's give thanks for our minds being clear
let's give thanks for our hearts bowing in humble reverence
Let's give thanks for surrendering our earthly severence
and instead of receiving gifts made of silver and gold
which can one day be stolen, or left behind to rot with mold
Let's receive a gift that's priceless without compare
with open arms and made for all to share
allow this season to not be about people pleasin
allow this season to not be about the only reason
But tis the season to let God's love flow along our heart's river banks
