On the highway, speeding
Down the left lane, preceding
A semi truck on my bumper, we
Can’t go any faster, because of the cops ahead, see?
I gestured and nodded, but he must not believe me
He honked his horn and continued to rush and complain
I finally signaled to get over into the slow lane
After the truck passed, suddenly one of its tires ripped
A loud boom and white smoke began to emit
As the impatient trucker swerved then hit
The guard rail, he tipped into the pit
And Jackknifed, sliding in a collision course
Toward the parked police force
Not guilty, but I was left with a tinge of remorse
I set my hazards to flash, as I pulled over on the side of the road
I began to sense what my gut soon forebode
The accident progressed in cinematic slow motion
A chain of events culminated in a tragic commotion
When I finally processed what I’d seen
I realized that the truck was hauling gasoline!
I dialed 911, and prayed like I was in church
As I popped the clutch and threw my 6 speed in reverse
First I saw flames, then felt an incredible heat before the explosion
