I went to a local basketball court
And shot 100 freethrows, here’s my statistical report
I missed 74 of them!
Quite a few almost went in
But none of those would count
My confidence was soon replaced with doubt
But didn’t blame the wind
As the reason why my shots didn’t go in
Maybe my ball had too much air?
Perhaps the rim wasn’t level up there?
When I missed a dozen shots in a row
I was about ready to go!
As I ran down each of my own rebounds
Here’s what I found
Whether I’d hit or miss a shot
I’d retrieve the ball and go right back to the same spot
26% from the line is wack!
I’m only half as good as Shaq!
I may never improve, but it’s good to try again and again
The odds aren’t in my favor, but at least a quarter of the time I’ll win!
