Mentally free, no longer caged, trying to persuade me with bread, no longer chasing money, you can save your advances for another slave

In my life no jail time and no bloodshed you can't tie me in with the destruction of my people in any type of way
Saved for stormy days, kept my spirituality safe, always believed in the promise of The Most High that there will be bright and shiny days for those that walked in humble ways
I chose to be brave, I chose not to be afraid, the enemy could never take my soul and I mean every word I say
In every noun that I place and in every verb that I trace, if you follow the trail all good deeds were the end results my Mama was never disgraced
I was always proud to show my face, I was always proud to rep my race, to prove to the world that we were the living miracles that were never fit to be slaves
We don't fit that description in any type of way, we've always gotten things done, I guess that incited your hate, but the hate that enjoy with be replaced with the love you never displayed or gave
To every oppressor that's out there, your time is up, that's why you're trying to build a virtual reality, but the reality of it all is that if We don't participate then you have no world at all.
